Amanda Sauer is an artist using photography to visualize time and reimagine our relationship to the natural world. She has a background in environmental research and advocacy. Amanda is a recipient of 2019, 2020, and 2021 Artist Fellowships from the D.C. Commission on the Arts and Humanities and her work is included in the DC ArtBank collection. She has a MFA in Photography and Film from Virginia Commonwealth University and a BA in economics from Cornell University.
Amanda is a professor of photography at Northern Virginia Community College where she teaches darkroom and large format photography classes. She lives in Washington DC with her husband and three children.
